GILLES VIDAL
Canadian modernist designer a Montreal based designer, who
worked in pewter and was in production in the late 60's to early 70's
 Vidal's designs were sophisticated and dainty.It was also said that
Vidal had concocted his own pewter formula which provided an
ability to work finer designs that still held their strength, as pewter, a
lead alloy is very soft and finer work can bend easily and be
damaged
 
LOUIS VUITTON COMPANY - (more commonly known simply as
Louis Vuitton) is a luxury French fashion and leather goods brand
and company, headquartered in Paris, France. It is a division of the
French holding company, LVMH Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy S.A.
The company is named after its founder Louis Vuitton (August 4,
1821-February 27, 1892), who designed and manufactured
luggage, as a Malletier during the second half of the nineteenth
century.
The company manufactures and markets luxury leather goods,
fashion accessories, prêt-à-porter, and jewelry. Many of the
company’s products utilize the signature gray Damier and
Monogram Canvas materials, both of which were first used in the
late 19th century. All of the company’s products utilize the
eponymous LV initials.
 
MASSIMO VIGNELLI,  born in milan, he studied architecture
in milan and venice. he travelled to the united states
from 1957 to 1960 on fellowships from towle silversmiths
in massachusetts and the institute of design, illinois institute
of technology, chicago. in 1960, with lella vignelli, he
established the vignelli office of design and architecture
in milan. in 1965, massimo vignelli became co-founder and
design director of unimark international corporation.
with lella vignelli, he established the offices of vignelli
associates in 1971, and vignelli designs in 1978. his work
includes graphic and corporate identity programs, publication
designs, architectural graphics, and exhibition, interior, furniture,
and consumer product designs for many leading american and
european companies and institutions. vignelli has had his work
exhibited and entered in the permanent collections of several
museums; notably, the museum of modern art, the metropolitan
museum of art, the brooklyn museum, and the cooper-hewitt -
museum in new york.
 
Victor Vasarely (Vásárhelyi Győző) (9 April 1908, Pécs - 15 March
1997, Paris) was a Hungarian French artist often acclaimed as the
father of Op-art. Working as a graphic artist in the 1930s he created
what is considered the first Op-art piece — Zebra, consisting of
curving black and white stripes, indicating the direction his work
would take. Over the next two decades, Vasarely developed his
style of geometric abstract art. His work won his international
renown and he received 4 prestigious prizes. He died in Paris in
1997.
